Welcome Nurses' CARE Program

Get involved today by registering for the Nurses’ CARE Program!

CARE stands for Community Action & Referral Effort. The Nurses’ CARE Program is a joint collaboration of ARNNL and the Newfoundland and Labrador Smokers’ Helpline. The program is a proactive way for you to refer patients to the Smokers’ Helpline where they will receive free support to help quit smoking. To use the Nurses’ CARE Program, you simply

1. Discuss how the Smokers' Helpline can assist your patient with quitting and ask if they would like to be referred to the Helpline.

2. If the patient consents, you complete the CARE Fax Referral Form and then fax it to the Smoker's Helpline at 726-2550.

3. A trained counselor will then call the patient to provide free specialized support and counseling.

The program is easy to use, free for everyone involved and takes very little of your time. To register for the CARE Program and receive a free CARE Kit, please call the Smokers’ Helpline at 1-800-363-5864 or complete the CARE Registration Form and fax it to the Smokers’ Helpline at 726-2550. You may also download the CARE Fax Referral Form.
