Education Nurse Practitioner Education

Through the Registered Nurses Act, the ARNNL has the statutory responsibility to set the standards of education for licensure as a Nurse Practitioner and to assess and approve all nurse practitioner education programs offered in the province. Approval assures the public that graduates are prepared to practice in accordance with ARNNL Standards for Practice for Nurse Practitioners and to meet the ARNNL competency requirements for entry-level nurse practitioner practice. Nurse Practitioner education programs offered in other jurisdictions (provinces/territories) must be equivalent to programs approved by ARNNL in order for graduates to be licensed to practice in this province.
